Liverpool are among several top clubs showing interest in another Premier League player as their pursuit of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak continues.
Isak, 25, has been heavily linked with a move from Newcastle to Liverpool throughout the summer transfer window and was the subject of an unsuccessful £110m plus add-ons bid earlier this month.
The Swede has not played for the Magpies since the final game of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign and has made it clear that he feels “promises” made to him had been “broken” in a statement last week.
However, despite it being clear that Isak wants to leave, it appears that Newcastle will not sanction a move until they bring in two forwards.

Eddie Howe’s side are looking to add Brentford’s Yoane Wissa and Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade before the September 1st deadline.
As reported by Sky Sports on Thursday, the Magpies have agreed to pay £64.86m (€75m) plus £4.3m (€5m) in add-ons for the Stuttgart forward.
So, in theory, this could open the door for Isak’s exit.

However, Liverpool’s business this summer may not yet be over.
Despite having already welcomed nine signings – Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giovanni Leoni, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi, Freddie Woodman, Will Wright – this summer, reports from Caught Offside suggest that the Reds, Manchester City and Real Madrid are showing interest in Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton.
Wharton, 21, has impressed with the Eagles since arriving from Blackburn Rovers in 2024, earning his first England cap last summer before being named in Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euro 2024.
According to Caught Offside, Palace would reportedly demand a price as high as £100m for the 21-year-old.

Sources have claimed that Liverpool, City and Real are currently the frontrunners to sign Wharton – although Manchester United and Spurs also hold long-term interest.
One source told the outlet that “Tottenham made direct contact with Palace before the Community Shield”, although their attention has now turned to the proposed signing of Xavi Simons, while João Palhinha has also arrived on loan from Bayern Munich and will likely play in the ‘number six’ position this season at least.
“City have been monitoring Wharton’s development for months, and they’re considering a bid,” the source added, before also explaining how Real Madrid are weighing up the financial side of a proposed deal.

Wharton is contracted to Palace until 2029.
